Sewer improvement work is set to start in Walmer, Kent.

We are planning to repair 650 metres of sewers as part of our renovation programme which aims to ensure the sewer system continues to work effectively.

Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to close Liverpool Road to all traffic between Cambridge Road and Dover Road. Access will be maintained for residents living north of Fisherman’s Courtyard via Dover Road.

Health and safety is a priority so careful management of the traffic and pedestrians will be in place at all times and sign-posted diversion routes will be in place.

While the work is being carried out, we will work closely with the highways department to ensure that disturbance to residents and local businesses is minimised and that the work is completed as quickly as possible. Residents and businesses are being contacted by letter to explain the situation.

The work, which will be carried out by our contractor, Clancy Docwra, is expected to be completed by the end of January.
