A £1.5 million investment will improve the environment in a Kent town.
We are upgrading Paddock Wood Wastewater Treatment Works, Tunbridge Wells.
The work will ensure the quality of the wastewater leaving the site is cleaner than ever, and continues to meet tightening standards set by the Environment Agency. It will also reduce smells coming from the site in Transfesa Road.
New equipment will include:
• A dosing unit to add an extra level of treatment to the wastewater when it enters the works.
• Monitors to continually check the quality of the wastewater leaving the site.
• An odour control unit to reduce smells coming from treatment tanks.
Construction starts in September and is due to complete in autumn 2012.
