School Talks
'Taking water for granted' is a 45-minute presentation for schools. Southern Water employees present a talk, quiz and video, which compares and contrasts attitudes to water through the eyes of Peter, who lives in the South of England and takes water for granted and Christina from Ghana, whose life is dominated by her daily journey to collect it.

‘Taking water for granted’ links to the Geography curriculum, and has relevance to Science and Citizenship. It provides pupils with an understanding of how and where their water is supplied from, and their wastewater treated. They can compare and contrast their use of water with a case study from West Africa, and learn about the work of WaterAid.

Talks can be booked by calling 01903 272648 or email to educationsupport@southernwater.co.uk

Don’t be a Drip
A theatre company present how the Drip family is wasteful with water until the taps, toilet and washing machine in their home rebel and the family finally learn how water is essential to their lives. The show has been designed to meet National Curriculum requirements on the water cycle for Key Stage 2.

The Drip family tours school with pre-booked performances at schools in North West Sussex and the Isle of Wight from April to June. Schools in the target area receive an invitation to book the Drips. The play is free of charge. For more information email emma@facepacktheatre.com

Water in the School
