MIKE WELTON
Chairman

Appointed in January 2008, Mike Welton, a chartered civil engineer and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Institution of Civil Engineers, was previously Chairman of construction materials group Hanson plc and is the current Chairman of support services provider Global Solutions Ltd. He is a former Chief Executive of the international engineering, construction and services group Balfour Beatty plc and also a past Chairman of both the Turkish/British Business Council and the UK Government’s Railway Sector Advisory Group.  He currently sits on the advisory board of Montrose Associates.

LES DAWSON
Chief Executive Officer

Les has been a main board Director of United Utilities and spent 20 years in Transco in various senior positions. He is a Chartered Water, Gas and Electricity Engineer.

HOWARD GOODBOURN
Finance Director

Appointed in March 2004. He spent a large part of his career in the utility sector in various finance roles and was treasurer and divisional finance director with Powergen plc. He spent the early part of his career in corporate finance with Charterhouse Bank, having qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte.

JASON ZIBARRAS
Non-executive Director

Appointed in October 2007 and currently Chairman of the Audit committee. He is a member of JP Morgan Asset Management's Infrastructure Investments Group, with responsibility for the Group's European investment activities. He currently serves as board member with Electricity North West, ENW and Zephyr Investments.

PHIL PETERS
Non-executive Director

Appointed in October 2007. He is an Executive Director with the Challenger Group in London with overall responsibility for Challenger's European infrastructure business. He has spent the majority of his career in investment banking, previously with Macquarie Bank and Citibank.

DAVID GOLDEN
Independent non-executive Director

Appointed in November 2003. He is Chairman of Altrix Healthcare plc and heads the MPSL Group of companies. He was previously Contracts Director at British Nuclear Fuels plc and Procurement Director at North West Water.

STEVE MARSHALL
Independent non-executive Director

Appointed in April 2005. He is Chairman of Balfour Beatty plc and Delta plc. A former Chief Executive Officer of Railtrack Group plc and Thorn plc, he is a previous Chairman of Torex Retail plc and Queens Moat Houses plc.

BOB ARMSTRONG OBE
Independent non-executive Director

Bob was previously Managing Director of United Utilities Customer Sales and a Director of United Utilities Water plc. He is a former chairman of Water UK and was awarded the OBE for services to the water industry in 2006.

CHERYL BLACK
Independent non-executive Director

Cheryl joined O2 in November 2006 as Customer Service Director on the O2 UK Board. She has previously held Customer Service Director roles at Scottish Water and NTL, as well as a range of senior customer focussed positions at Orange, Cable & Wireless and EDF. She also holds a non-executive role on the Board of NHS 24, a telephone-based branch of the NHS, as well as being a Vice President and Companion Member of the Institute of Customer Service and a Director of O2 Pension Trustee Ltd.
